Fruit from the Heathcote Estate vineyard
Fermented in open and closed fermenters, three weeks on skins
Pressed and transferred to barrel – 90% French and 10% American (30% new)
Aged in oak for 18 months, racked four times during maturation
The Result
Lovely intense shiraz fruit leaps from the glass, supported by an array of complex herbs and spice. The palate, loaded with dark fruited intensity, has balance, texture and great length illustrating how pinot noir specialists can handle Heathcote shiraz.
